Temporary Exhibitions
5.6.2021 - 21.11.2021
Color and Power is an exhibition displaying the width and complexity of the San paintings from the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg in South Africa. These are paintings that was created using fine tools and with a variety of colors to provide depth and shadow in the visual expression. This is an art tradition where insight was provided by San informants in the 1800s to missionaries and anthropologists, where the link between the paintings and the trance dance, an important aspect of San religion and culture, was explained.
